Biography

Sarah Holloway paints birds, insects, and plant life with a scientific eye and a painter's patience. Her watercolors begin with field observation and end with pieces that sit between natural history illustration and fine art. She has worked with conservation organizations and private collectors across the eastern United States.

Artist Statement

I am interested in the overlooked. The heron that stands in the cattails for an hour without moving. The moth that lives only three days. My work asks you to look at what was always there.

Process & Studio Notes

All work begins outdoors or from live specimens. Sketches in graphite, then builds watercolor in transparent layers using professional pigments on 300gsm cotton paper. No AI tools used at any stage.
