Leah Kim works in mixed media, combining hand-cut collage, painted surfaces, and found textile elements. Her work explores memory and material ... the way objects and fabrics carry emotional weight that images alone cannot. She exhibits regularly in Portland and has shown nationally.
Artist Statement
I am interested in surfaces that have been touched. Paper that was handled, fabric that was worn, paint that was layered and sanded back. The work is about what accumulates over time and what we choose to keep.
Process & Studio Notes
All collage elements are hand-cut or torn. Textile elements are sourced from vintage and salvaged materials. Painting elements applied by brush and palette knife. No digital manipulation at any stage.
